ResearchThe units and weapons in Darwinia may be improved by research. The research panel can be found in one of two ways:
A topic to research may be selected by clicking on the appropriate bar. For instance, if a player wished to improve the range of their Squad's Lasers, he would click on the bar labelled "Lasers." Research points are applied to the selected item from the research point pool at a uniform rate until either the item is fully upgraded, or there are no more points in the pool. Research points are added to the pool at a rate of 22 points per captured Control Tower. New improvements are granted at 50 points (version 2.0), 150 points (version 3.0), and 350 points (version 4.0).
