RadarDish

From the manual:

"These buildings are used for short range transportation between islands. Most of them are initially offline due to the Virus outbreak, so their Control Tower must be reprogrammed before they can be used. Once this is done you can align a Radar Dish by clicking on it to select it, then clicking on a receiving dish. The dishes will align, forming a communication tunnel down which you can transport Squads, Officers, or Darwinians."

Radar dishes form one-way or two-way connections to other radar dishes, and are used to transport units such as Squads, Darwinians, and Officers from one area to another. To travel via Radar Dishess, there must be a Radar Dish on both the Departure island and the Destination island. There must also be a clear path between departure and destination Dish, as anything blocking the path will prevent the two Dishes connecting.

To create a connection from Dish A (the Departure Dish) to Dish B (the Destination Dish), Dish A must be 'friendly', or under the player's control. If it's blinking lights are yellow, then you're all set - if not, you must first take control of Dish A, by reprogramming the Control Tower that controls Dish A, which is always found in close proximity to the Dish in the regular game. The status of Dish B is irrelevent, so long as it is aimed roughly in the direction of Dish A. and there is nothing blocking line-of-sight between the two Dishes.

Deselect any selected units by hitting [SPACE], and select Dish A by clicking on it. A cross-hair cursor will appear.

Click on Dish B with the crosshair. Dish A will realign itself to point at Dish B, and when it is in the correct position you'll see a beam of light emanating from Dish A, and pulsing towards Dish B.

To send Squads or Officers through Dish A to Dish B, select the unit, then move the cursor over the entry at the bottom of the Dish. The cursor should change from an arrow to a set of four triangles that face in towards the base of the Dish, indicating that you are about to send the unit into the Dish. Click on the Dish, and the unit will enter and travel through the beam to the other Dish, and exit.

To send Darwinians through Dish A to Dish B, have an Officer send a GOTO order to Dish A (making sure you see the four triangle target icon as described above), and any Darwinians near the Officer will travel to the Dish and be transported to the opposite side. Also, you can use the Officer's FOLLOW command to have Darwinians follow it through the dish - in this case, simply activate the Officer's FOLLOW command, and then send the Officer through Dish A as per the instructions above.

Note: Do not adjust the trajectory of Dishes while there are units in transit, or they will be instantly killed, and their souls left floating above the area between the two dishes.

If you wish send units from Dish B back to Dish A, then follow the instructions as above, substituting Dish A for Dish B, and Dish B for Dish A. You will then see the beam of light between them pulse both ways, indicating that two-way travel is now possible.
